It’s right there in their name, we know! But even so, peanuts are actually legumes from the same family as peas and lentils!

It’s important to note that the oil content in peanuts is way higher than what can be usually found in legumes, so you shouldn’t consume too much of them.

But moderate consumption of unsalted and unroasted peanuts is probably good for you. They may prevent heart disease and help lower the cholesterol level in your blood, just like most other nuts. 

Yes, Peanut Butter also works (in moderation, of course), as long as it’s unsalted and unsweetened.
