Met gala goes vegan

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Met Gala, one of the most talked about events of the year, is going to go fully vegan this year for the first time ever!

10 different NYC based chefs will create unique vegan dishes to feed the usual cast of A-list celebrities attending the gala, slated to take place on September 13th.

Event organizer and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour tasked celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson with creating a modern American dining experience that will match this year's theme - “American Fashion”. Explaining why he chose to go fully plant-based, Samuelsson said “We thought it was important to really talk about what’s present, what’s happening—how food is changing in America, we want to be the future of American food, of plant-based food. That conversation is happening now.”
